“We’re thankful for the hard work on school choice this session, both to the Senate for passing SB8, and to Chairman Buckley and the House Public Education Committee for giving the issue thoughtful consideration and debate. Giving parents greater control over their children’s education is supported by a large majority of Texans, and we fully support Governor Abbott’s position that any school choice legislation has broad eligibility. We remain committed to working with legislators on a meaningful proposal, and are hopeful that such a measure can pass this session.”
